MARCH 2017

Junior High and Senior High Youth Report

  • Junior and Senior High Youth meets every Sunday night from 6pm-8pm
  • In the last 5 months, the number of regular attending youth has risen from 20 to 30 or an increase of 50%
  • Both Junior High and Senior High Youth participated in 6-week War Room church wide Bible study
  • 15 youth participated in serving Christmas dinner to 100 residents at Brementowne Manor. This is in addition to the service projects we already partake in there
  • Youth in planning stages of ways to contribute to the Contemporary Worship services which will most likely include music and instrumental playing by the youth group. Expected start date Summer 2017
  • At the youth’s request, continuing to do service projects at member’s homes June through November as directed by the men’s group
  • Continuing to host camping, fishing, paintball, swimming and BBQ retreats (summer 2017)
  • Continuing to reach out to youth through inspirational e-mails and text messages
  • Reaching out to parents through phone calls or approaching them at church
  • Making a presence in the day school junior high on a weekly basis to encourage participation in youth group. On average reaching out to between 5-7 students.
  • Speak with public school confirmation class students to inform them what youth group is like and encourage them to participate
  • Completed 6-week Bible study “Dare to Dream” in January
  • Currently teaching 6-week Bible study- Rick Warren’s “Everything is Possible with God”
  • Planning a preview night for 5th graders to introduce them to junior high youth
