I am a lifelong Lutheran, having graduated from Bethel Lutheran School, Luther High South, and Valparaiso University. Darlene and I are long time Trinity members, having transferred to Trinity following our move to Tinley Park subsequent to my hire by School district #146 in 1971. Our children were baptized and confirmed at Trinity. During my years at Trinity, I have been very active in a number of areas. Over the past 30 years, I have served on various church boards, including the Board of Elders, Board of Christian Education, and Board of Stewardship. My current main involvement is serving as vice-chairman of the congregation and chairman of the Coordinating Council. My participation in Christian education has been an ongoing blessing, having been a small group Bible study leader for decades, leading Adult and Junior High Bible studies on Sunday mornings, and even teaching confirmation parents during the week and at weekend Confirmation retreats. I am the current sponsor of the Trinity Lutheran School chess club. My hobbies include being a caregiver to my dear grandchildren, reading, coin and sports memorabilia collecting (I am the president of the Oak Forest Numismatic Society), competing in contract bridge tournaments, and cheering on the Chicago White Sox.
